Sophie Carrington
on numerous occasions. A teacher trainer and assessor for the Iyengar Yoga Association, and a registered yoga therapist, she continues her own training under the guidance of Penny Chaplin.
Sophie came to Iyengar yoga in her 40s at a low ebb, but although she initially felt she couldn’t do anything, something kept her coming back. The practice of Iyengar yoga has helped her enormously and she likes to help others experience similar therapeutic benefits.
Penny Chaplin
She started teaching herself from a book and first met B.K.S. Iyengar in 1971 when he was teaching in London. As his direct student, she visits Pune yearly. She has been teaching since 1974. She teaches the Teachers Class, Intermediate and General classes and runs the Senior and Intermediate workshops at Iyengar Yoga London. She is a Moderator and Teacher Trainer for IY (UK). For many years she was actively involved in The National Teachers Association, and she currently sits on the Assessment & Teacher Training Committee of IY (UK).
Rita Di Tano
enthusiasm for yoga developed, she was drawn to the Iyengar method because of its focus on alignment, precision, sequencing and concentration.
She completed her Iyengar yoga teacher training and has been teaching Iyengar yoga since 2014. Rita continued her studies and training and qualified at Level 2 in 2019. She is passionate about Iyengar yoga and has extensive experience teaching beginners and students who are new to Iyengar yoga.
She continues to practice and study with senior Iyengar Yoga teachers at Iyengar Yoga London and attends retreats workshops, with visiting senior international Iyengar yoga teachers.
Celia Henebury
continues to be inspired. She has found the practice of Iyengar yoga a lifelong source of creativity and joy. She enjoys the philosophy that Iyengar yoga imparts and likes to share as much of this as possible in her classes, with humour and a continued shared exploration.
Paul Jackson
Vale and qualified as a teacher in 2019. He particularly resonates with the method’s precision and attention to detail.
Through his engagement with all aspects of yoga, he has witnessed its transformative power. He seeks to share this passion with his students.
His calm, focused teaching style combines precise instruction and explanation with clear demonstration. In his classes you can expect challenging physical work followed by deep relaxation with attention to the more subtle levels of yoga practice.

Keiko Onishi
her practice all through her busy working life in the financial sector.
She has been teaching since 2006, having done the teacher training courses at Iyengar Yoga London since 2003, and gained her Level 3 certificate in 2013. She has visited Pune on four occasions, and continues her study and practice with senior teachers, as well as attending workshops by visiting senior teachers from overseas.
Korinna Pilafidis-Williams
an Online General Class as well as a bespoke class for people with neurological issues, such as Multiple Sclerosis. She is also a mentor and trainer, supporting others in their yoga journeys. Additionally, Korinna spent many years as the editor of Dipika, one of the UK’s longest-running yoga magazines.
Kate Rathod
She gave up a career in graphic design to pursue her passion for her yoga practice and has been teaching since 2003. She has attended classes in Pune and continues to study with senior Iyengar yoga teachers.
Rebecca Rawsthorne

She has been teaching since 2007 and is interested in making yoga relevant to all. To supplement her interest in yoga therapy Rebecca qualified as a physiotherapist in 2025 and is now working towards yoga therapy accreditation.
Kristyan Robinson
Iyengar yoga practice began when she moved to London in 1989. Kristyan visit RIMYI in Pune in 2019 and is a Level 2 teacher. She has been teaching since 2015.

Valentina Salaris

She has studied at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India, and she is currently continuing her studies with senior teacher Sophie Carrington.
