Making Iyengar yoga accessible

“I am sure that after me, my family, my pupils, their children, and the next generation will carry the message of yoga to every nook and corner of the globe, so that all may live as one human race without geographical division of race, religion, colour or gender.”
B.K.S. Iyengar

B.K.S. Iyengar created a method of yoga accessible to all, and helped found our centre here in London, one of the most diverse cities in the world. We strive to foster diversity within the organisation, welcoming all students so they can experience the profound benefits of yoga.

We follow the Charity Governance Code. Our board aims to have “a clear, agreed and effective approach to supporting equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the organisation.”

Our Diversity Advisory Group

We have established a Diversity Advisory Group. This voluntary group of our members includes a current Iyengar Yoga London board member. The Diversity Advisory Group’s role is to advise our board of trustees and ensure that matters relating to diversity, accessibility and inclusion are on the agenda at every board meeting.

As an organisation we do not tolerate racist or discriminatory behaviour, bullying or harassment of any kind. We have a formal complaints procedure to thoroughly investigate and address any incidents that may occur.

We believe we can do more. We want to do better.

If you have a complaint, comment or idea relating to diversity, accessibility or inclusion at Iyengar Yoga London, please contact us.
